Other opportunities nearby include charter schools like Revolution Academy and Cornerstone Charter Academy, as well as the private school option of Oak Ridge Military Academy.

Directly across from the elementary school is Oak Ridge Swim Club. Members can relax at the pool, join swim teams or take lessons. Take a step back in history by going to the Old Mill of Guilford. This fully operational mill from the 1700s produces some of the best fine foods and crafts in North Carolina.

For nature lovers, there are great parks and trails in the area. Oak Ridge Town Park is a community hub where people gather from all walks of life. Cascades Preserve is a county-maintained nature trail with beautiful landscapes and wildlife habitat.
